“God is Beautiful and loves Beauty”, Hadith

This piece took just over 6 months to create and was inspired by 16th century Ottoman Qurans. It was customary in the courts and palaces of royalty to own and gift large scale Qurans.The size of the actual artwork is approx 2x1.5m

The paper has been hand dyed using a variety of ingredients, mainly walnuts. Gold has been hand ground to a powder and then activated to be used as paint and has been used extensively in this artwork.
